Homemade Vegan Chocolate Milk

You only need 3 ingredients to make homemade vegan chocolate milk! It’s so easy, quick and customisable to your taste.

I used to drink a lot of chocolate milk when I was younger; from a small carton, in a glass, with my granola! I don’t know why no one ever told me it was so easy to make my own vegan chocolate milk, because I’ve been searching for a good chocolate plant milk, to no avail.

This homemade vegan chocolate milk, though, tastes just like the chocolate milk I used to drink!

Three ingredients to make homemade vegan chocolate milk:

  • soy milk, or plant milk of your choice!
  • cocoa powder
  • sugar, I use granulated white sugar but you can also use brown sugar, coconut sugar, or even a liquid sweetener.

These ingredients are the base of a good chocolate milk, but you can also flavour it with spices like cinnamon or instant coffee (to make mocha milk)!

You can also customise the amount of sugar and cocoa powder based on how sweet or bitter you like your chocolate milk.

How long can I keep homemade chocolate milk?

Homemade chocolate milk can be stored in a clean jar in the fridge for 1 week. Make sure you use fresh plant milk, so that it lasts longer.

Can I make chocolate milk without a blender?

Yes!

If you don’t have a blender, you can make chocolate milk in a pot over the stove. Pour the milk into the pot and sift in the cocoa powder. Add in sugar, heat over medium low and whisk until everything is dissolved.

You can serve it warm, or let cool before storing in the fridge in a jar.

Now, I make chocolate milk for myself every week, along with my usual granola so that I always have a yummy breakfast in the morning! But honestly I eat granola and drink chocolate milk at literally any time of the day.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 litre soy milk or other plant milk of choice
  • 2 tbsp sugar more to taste
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder more to taste

Instructions
 

  • Blend together all ingredients until well incorporated.
  • Serve immediately or chilled.

Notes

Store Chocolate Milk in a clean jar/bottle in the fridge for 1 week.
You can adjust the amount of sugar and cocoa powder, based on how sweet or bitter you like your chocolate milk.
If you don’t have a blender, you can dissolve the sugar and cocoa powder into the milk in a pot over the stove. Let cool before storing.
